At the Heart of High-Level Diplomacy

As 2026 unfolds, we are pleased to share two recent highlights from KL Communications.

Our Managing Director, Dr Kevin Lin OBE, served as Official Interpreter during Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s visit to China as well as during the recent visit of the Taoiseach of Ireland.

The Prime Minister’s visit marked the first engagement at this level in eight years. Among the tangible outcomes were the halving of Chinese tariffs on whisky and the introduction of visa-free travel arrangements for UK citizens — measures expected to support British exports and jobs.

During the Taoiseach’s visit, the ban on Irish pork exports to China was lifted, and a dozen agreements were signed between higher education institutions in both countries.
